Your muscle fibers run in parallel lines like spaghetti nice and lined up. When they become sore they are intertwined and overlapping causing inflammation and pain. When the injury originally occurs your body sends red blood cells to the area to help the healing process. When this doesn’t fix the problem you need to trick the body into thinking its re-injured so your body will send the red blood cells and nutrients to the area to repair. This is done through ASTYM treatment which works to break up the adhesion and straighten out the muscle fibers, thus healing the injury.
